There are over 7 billion people on earth, and no two people are exactly alike, which means, each person has something unique they can leave with the world. Each person holds talents, skills, and or ideas that are exclusive to them. Keep learning about yourself and what you (can) bring to the world, this realization is “The Idea of Being Somebody”.
"My "like it, do it" would be experiencing travels outside the country. This would be a new experience for me and I welcome the challenge that goes along with it. Like many others I want to travel the world, but particularly Ethiopia, India, and China. Though the tourist attractions would be great; I’m more interested in the day to day operations of the locals and the spirit of the nation as a whole. I look forward to growth and new stories to tell." - Bruce Slaughter
…Employing a soulful, head nodding groove typical in neo-soul, coupled with introspective subject matter, Bruce Slaughter is a new edition to the Ohio Hip-Hop scene. Inspired by laid-back vibes such as Common’s and an early Lupe Fiasco, his recent project, “No Crowns” EP delves into the plight and resolution of social and personal circumstances. "I was born and raised in Columbus Ohio. I have a lot of love for my city and state. With that being said, the older I got, the more I realized there is a dope world out there for me to see and experience. I had to make a change. I had to get out there and travel. We all only live once (WOLO), might as well see as much of the world as we can right? I told myself that I was going to make a conscious effort to step outside my comfort zone and just GO!
So I did. In just a couple short years I’ve taken trips to New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and many other smaller cities around the US. During my travels I’ve opened my eyes to so many different cultures, forms of entertainment, styles of fashion, foods and just overall views on life. I can honestly say it has made me a better person in many ways. One of the biggest and surprisingly underlying benefits I’ve gotten from traveling is a new appreciation for home. Being away helps you not take for granted the little things (your bed, favorite food spots, friends, memories, etc).
I haven’t been privileged to leave the country just yet but just wait ‘til I get my money right. Lol I mean I’m only 23 years young so who knows what the future holds! If you like it do it. God Bless” -K.O.
Thank you for your time and words, Kevin.
